Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery

Wes Montgomery was a big influence on me. His tone was incredible as he
used the flesh of his thumb to play. He ability to build a solo from single lines, to octaves and then chords breaks the bounds of the narrow range of expression of most other players. I've never seen a more connected and natural player than Wes. He had an honesty and sincerity to his playing that gave his music emotional force. There was no lag between his creation of an idea and his expression of it.

His original tunes were constructed in such a way that one could comp chords to the tune while playing the head, like in Jingles, West Coast Blues and Tear it down.

His brothers Buddy and Monk are awesome in their own right. I heard Buddy play piano at Garden City in San Jose and everyone's jaws were dropping such was his powerful and exciting playing. And he billed himself as was known as vibes player!
